Job Summary of Production Coordinator:

Directly accountable to the Production Coordinator, this role involves supervising the department's production operations and criteria. It involves driving improvements in operational performance by adhering to timelines, managing expenses, and overseeing inventory levels. The position includes managing and coordinating tasks associated with producing company products.

Responsibilities of Production Coordinator:

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates production activities and priorities to obtain maximum efficiency of operations
  • Reviews, develops, and implements methods, procedures, and reports to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Assumes responsibility for costs, methods, operations, quality, and quantity of production.
  • Revises production schedules and priorities because of equipment failure or operating problems.
  • Communicates with management to establish production and quality control standards, obtains data regarding quantities, specifications, and delivery dates.
  • Promotes a team atmosphere, takes pride in workmanship, must be self-motivated, and provides timely and accurate work.
  • Communicates with associates on shift on an ongoing basis about the status of the shift
  • Review and check daily production paperwork for accuracy and completion
  • Follow all SOPs for production, shipping and receiving and sanitation
  • Perform daily inspection of the facility each shift
  • Monitor and report attendance of team members on shift
  • Perform weekly and monthly inventory on raw material and finished goods.
  • Performs other functionally related duties as assigned

Requirements of Production Coordinator:

  • Capability to understand and make sense of written documents, including safety regulations and procedural handbooks.
  • Capability to carry out mathematical functions like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division within any measurement unit, utilizing both whole numbers and decimal figures.
  • Capacity to comprehend diverse sets of guidelines provided in written, verbal, visual, or structured forms.
  • Leading a team in a high-speed production environment
  • Effective management of one's time
  • Good organizational skills
  • Adequate skill in MS Office is required
  • An associate degree is preferred, although a high school diploma or GED is also considered
  • A minimum of two years working as a manufacturing supervisor is necessary
  • Candidates with prior food industry experience are preferred
